This is one of my haul from the Orchid Society Show today. It did not come with a tag so I did a little online research and came up with the above name. Please don't ask me to pronounce it It has 2 two spikes that are in bloom with at least 100+ flowers per spike and 4 more spikes that are currently developing.
Thanks for looking
nice gentle colour. I like that yellow center
my ornithorhynchum is currently in spike as well.
It is wonderful Congratulations! That should stay in bloom for a while too.
Cheers,
BD
That is now totally on my wish-list! From what I 've read it is an easy to grow and bloom, so you should have many more hundreds of flowers in your future!
The name is pronounced "ore-nith-oh-RINK-um" and it means bird (ornith) beak (rhynchum). How the flower is supposed to resemble a bird's beak is unknown to me. Does anyone else see the resemblence? -Meg
Is it fragrant?
What a great bouquet. Love that soft pink. Nice find, Marissa.

Meg, the I in "RINK" is a long "I", yes? As in PIKE...yes?
Well, the buds are kinda finch beak shaped, but I don't see anything bird-beaked about the flowers. Marissa, how would you describe the fragrance?
