    Default 6 Months in Eden

Just a couple of quick shots of my greenhouse--hard to believe its been there for six months now. I just love puttering around out there.

And thanks to all you enablers, I've had no trouble finding inspiration for what to fill it with.

I took the picture at night--so everything looks a little dark. Sorry. I just usually have two little helpers (age 2 1/2 and 9 months who want to "help" mama in the greenhouse--so I have to work quickly when they are awake.)

So I have three racks of phals/paphs and shade lovers at the furthest end. That way I can use curtain-like and overhead shade cloth to keep them happy. Then two racks of catts/epis/phrags etc etc the light lovers closer to the door--they are set up so that the shade doesn't hit them. Then the vandas are hanging from electrical conduit pipe up above. (Works really well--light weight, twn-foot lengths. I spray painted mine to match the walls of the greenhouse--yes, I am a little OCD. )

Oh, and I have found that my orchids grow so much better if I always tend them wearing a silk dress, pearls and heels.

Okay--not really. Usually it is 5:30 am and I'm in my pjs out there watering or 10:00 at night and I'm out there enjoying the 'chids . . . while my kids are asleep.

It looks wonderful and so organized, this would be my favorite room of the house if I had a beautiful greenhouse like yours! This is fantastic. And I give you credit for gardening in heels and a cocktail dress, you are a woman who likes challenges, obviously! (you look radiant and fabulous)

That is a beautiful setup. The orchids (and the owner) look happy
    So organized!

And I rarely get away with visiting the greenhouse with my nice clothes on. I always end up with a reprimand from my wife about the fact that it only takes 1 minute to change into my gardener's clothes before going to the greenhouse.

I guess the world will take a while to accept the "moss covered wing tips" fashion trend lol.

What a nice greenhouse! I can see how it would call you to come out and play. And if you don't fill it, then you haven't properly utilized your investment, so I think you need to go and purchase a few more orchids.....

Too funny! I have teens and I still have to tend to my plants between activities and when I have a day off.

It looks wonderful! I always look forward to a sunny Feb day in the greenhouse!

Beautiful - the owner and the orchids! I agree, you should print out the first photo and frame it! You radiate happiness!

    Cheers,
