I should probably correct my previous statement since during our Monday evening grocery shopping another little guy jumped in our cart. I should mention however that it's not me that is trying to take home more chids it's the wife that's going nuts. She had decided that there should always at least be one that's in bloom. At this point in time that's 3 phals and the sharry baby that's about to bloom.
Now the wait is on for the first cattleya rebloom. This might be a while since I don't think I get enough light here and I'm currently not set up for supplemental lighting.
This guy is a (Dtps Taisuco Jewel x P. Little Gem) x P equestris 'alba' and it has a branch growing behind the opened flowers (at least 11 more buds in total).

Yay for your sharry baby!!! I have one too that I bought I think in February and it was in bloom....when was the last time yours bloomed for you? I was trying to determine when mine might bloom again....I suppose I'll have to wait until february
