Spike or growth

Discovered these "growths" on my Cym traceyanum are they new growths or spikes

It is odd to see two new growths so close together, so I am gonna guess spikes??

They look like new growths to me.
Cymbidium inflorescences tend to be more bulbous at the tip compared to the needlepoint tips of new growths.

They look exactly like all my new growths - and though mine are indeed on the outside I have 6 on one plant, so they are quite close together like that.

Well, if it turns out to be growths, Ron, just think about how many spikes are possible when it does bloom!

LOL, I know, I actually wasn't expecting this one to bloom for me but was hopeful. I should have brought these in last night for we ended up with a frost...oh well, they are hardy and it wasn't a hard freeze. This is one of the bigger species and I don't know how big I can allow it to become...not enough room. I will keep this one at home. Someday it will bloom. I can fit 6 oriental Cym species in the space of this one plant. Hopefully come spring I will bwe posting pics of one of the other 2 in bloom

Don't give up on it. If it is growing that well, I bet you can get it to bloom. I just took a look at our cool blooming cym and it has spikes and buds. I need to move it back inside now.

Stay hope full, a couple of mine are doing the same thing - it's the wrong time of year, and we have yet to have nights below about 55 here so I am pretty sure they are new growths.
