    Default Keiki related question Phal.

Just have a few questions about this Phal i have. I used keiki-boost on it. It didn't take long before i noticed something was growing.

One spike had two keiki's, and in the middle something that looks like a spike. The other spike has one rather large keiki, with another four thingies next to it. Next to the keiki seems like another small keiki, next one looks like a spike, again a small keiki and again a spike.

Now i was wondering if all of these baby's won't take too much of their mommy. She seems alright and healthy (even produces another leaf).

I was also wondering when the keiki's will produce some roots and if i can do anything to promote that?

    Some pics...

My understanding is keikis are quite variable, with some doing mostly leaves, and others rooting more readily. I don't know if there's definitely anything you can do, but you might try pinning the keiki (still attached to the spike--don't try removing it) to a pot with sphagnum.

    Cheers,

    Rob

I not an expert, but i would try to mist it to encourage some root growth....maybe that would help to encourage new roots to be formed

When you use any kind of growth hormone, one never really knows what might come of it. I have used it and only promoted new spikes and no keikis while other times I get nasty looking growths....as one can see from these pictures.....
