Default My Bettas 'El Guapo' and 'Posh'

I wasn't able to get an action shot of this two guys as they of course didn't want to show off when I got the camera ready. Anyway, this are my two Siamese fighting fish 'El Guapo' (red) and 'Posh' (blue).
El Guapo is named after the MMA fighter Bas Rutten whose nickname is El Guapo. Posh is named after the restaurant that my wife and I went to after we bought this little guy and made him wait in the car.

Cute!!!!! I really love bettas...I used to keep these guys too - but they kept jumping out of their tanks and onto the floor...I would come home from school to find them on the floor, it was so sad Maybe keep a lid on yours...sometimes when two of the males are in close proximity to each other, they will in fact flare at each other and proceed to race around their tanks, and sometimes they can accidentally shoot out of the tanks! I'd hate to have yours have the same fate as mine

El Guapo "The Most Handsome" in Spanish....there is a cute Mexican painter that works here where I do and I call him guapocito

I thought Posh was after the spice girl

I once had a red Beatta (Diablo) that lived for almost 7 years!

    Once more thing

These fish enjoy making 'spit bubbles' a lot, don't they?

They do like their bubble nests, however, they like their tanks clean too so they get really really moody when I change the water and destroy their bubbles.
I've read that if you keep the water about 2" from the top of the tank/bowl they will most likely not launch themselves out.

Make sure you keep the water warm...the quickest way to weaken them is when the water is cold.

    ...one more thing..

I'd rather have one of these fish than any piece of jewelery
