Default How to put names on photos

I need to find a way to put the name of my Orchids on my pictures like I see from time to time on the forum.I have been told it would work on Photoshop CS. I use Adobe Photoshop to resize my pictures but I use Photoshop 7 not Photoshop CS but I do have CS at the office. Would somebody mind telling me what you shoud do to put the words of the names of the Orchid on the picture on Photoshop CS and maybe I can do it on my Photoshop 7 or go get CS at the office. If it would be easier to direct me somwhere else thats OK too. Thanks Buzz

    Hi Buzz

It's pretty simple to put text into images using PhotoShop. The majority of the tools are the same but here are the example using CS3 (I believe the layout changed from 2 columns to 1 when Adobe introduced the CS version.. but it's been a while since I used 7 so I'm not 100% sure)
To put in text, just follow the steps:
    1. Select the T from the left toolbar (Type Tool)
    2. Select the Font / Size etc from the top toolbar
    3. Select the color from Swatches (default is Black)
    4. Mouse over the image where you want to put the text and left mouse click

    There you have it.

Oh by the way, once you finish with the editing, you would want to use the "Save for Web & Devices..." under File. Or I think it's just "Save for Web" for version 7. That way you can greatly reduce the file size. You can just chose JPEG and Quality as 80 (you can change it to what ever). As you see in the example, the original image size is 2.25 MB and it's 107.5K afterwards.

Many thanks OC-JIM. You went to a lot of trouble and it helped a lot to see the attached images.
