    Default Phals with problems

I have had about 15-20 plants do this in the last couple of years.Sometimes they put out a keiki from the base but more often than not they die after 6 month to a year. It is only a problem that it seems to be plants I want to keep. Has anyone got any ideas.

Did the other ones have a flower spike come up right in the middle of the plant like the one in the picture? I don't know what causes spikes to grow that way, but I do know that those kind of spikes kill the plant.

I am so sorry. I don't know why that happens either. Sometimes the plant will also put up a basal keiki that will let the plant continue. Sorry, Ted, that just bites.

    Cheers,

Are u using any additives in your water? We all know that keikis r generally caused by things in the plants environment, like hormones or maybe a chemical in ur water? Could it be oroducing them bc the media you use is not what it likes? Tell us more about how u grow these phals, that will help us.

Sorry about the terminal spike , A couple of questions ,are the roots good ? How much sun exposure are they getting the leaves look on the light side . I would guess there is something that is stressing them . Gin

I water my plants from a 900 litre tank because the town supply is low on presure and so no mixing system will work,I put thrive in the tank at 4-6 on a CF meter,so every thing gets feed when watered but only weakly.
