Pic # 2; I go for the Peter Phen "Slanted Light" look. Ahem! Not quite Peter's shooting, but maybe it's the thought that counts....

This one just started to open yesterday. I love the long petals....

WOW! Did you know that PEOY is my number 1 favorite Paph hybrid? I love it! Yours is so well grown and healthy. Mine is still quite young to bloom and waiting anxiously for it to bloom. How big is yours, number of growths and leafspan?
Your pictures have greatly improved and now you should reward me with that PEOY (Just kidding!) BTW, is it for sale or from your private collection? The light effect one surely adds drama to the photo, good job! Thanks for sharing and now you can post beautiful pics for your website.
Thanks, Peter. The leafspan on this one is a little over 23 inches, and it has 2 growths, the blooming one, and a new one about 2 inches high coming up in the back. This is the plant's first bloom so I'm pretty excited to see it fully open.
It's one in our private collection I bought as a seedling a few years back; I've got two others I bought recently but they're still seedlings too. The larger of them is about 2 years to bloom, I'd guess. The smallest one -- -- got crown rot just last week so it, as they say in the orchid lingo, "is toast..."
Sigh.... Oh well. *That's* 30 bucks down the tubes.....
If I had another blooming sized one, I'd sell you this one no problem, but unfortunately......
I really envy your PEOY. I guess mine is close to maturity, so I need a little more patience. My Paph supardii and dianthum are in spike also, so I'm very excietd.
You're doing quite well on your photography skills. I would like to see more. Do post another photo of your PEOY in full bloom and let me know the length of the petals.
...will do!
(There's nothing quite as satisfying as showing off a newfound skill!)
The petals on the lower flower are now just shy of ten inches in length.....
at the risk of boring everyone.....lol!
Thanks for posting new pics of your PEOY! I really like it and you can post as many as you want because it's my favorite multifloral hybrid.
And your pics are now so much better too, excellent!
Very nice.....paph and photography!! Will the petals continue to get longer?
