    Default Some flowers and trees....

I went outside prowling for pictures to share...thankfully my neighbors didn't call the police when I went through snapping pics of their special stuff too. I hope you'll all enjoy them. As I snapped these about noon I had to compete with the bees for the flowers. lol

First a snapdragon that was growing like a weed out front. I moved it from a rocky area to a flower pot and now it grows constantly yearround for me.

I didn't know if pansies would do well out back. The soil is thin and that area gets tons of wind and the afternoons hottest sun. Obviously, they don't mind abit. I may have to get a few more of these! A sweet william sits next to it in this pictures....

Out in my front area I've thrown a few things....the one with red flowers in the middle is called a crown of thorns. Their stems are covered with thorns, sort of a rose on steroids sort of thing. To the left is my silver striped Mother-In-Laws Tongue plants. These get about 3-4 feet tall here. The thing that looks like a weed on the right, is an African Iris. When summer arrives it'll look much better and the flowers will be arriving a few at a time.

I just dug this one up...my Mexican Petunia (an invasive mexican plant). I found it covered with scale...now I am beginning to understand why it's been so hard to get rid of the stuff from my orchids. They are propagating on my bushes! Well...not this one anymore anyways.

The rose bush that cost 2.50 and wasn't supposed to be able to grow here. Guess someone forgot to tell this rose bush because it's lovely this year, again.

I got a great close-up of an oldie, but goodie; my sweet williams are growing like weeds everywhere this year.

These, I have no idea of the name. They drape on my neighbors backyard fence and up into some trees and vines. The second pic is my favorite....

From my neighbors yard, I took a couple pictures of a large tree that looks like a fern. It's trunk is completely being taken over by a large cactus that has wound around and around and looks amazing.

The trumpet flower plants are beautiful, and this purple double flower is no exception. It is loaded with seed pods, I included a pic of them as they are cool looking (imho).

And last, but not least, a bush with a flair for color. I do not know the name of this one either....

Wow! Connie, Thank you for the virtual tour, I really enjoyed seeing growing flowers today. The sun is out in central Iowa, but we are getting a lazy snow- little crystal flakes floating gently down covering everything in a blanket of white!

This area is a little strange. Because we stick out into the gulf, our county usually never goes below 40. Even when others south of here are covering plants, we skate through somehow. This last cold spell went down to 35 and shocked all of the natives here. I had to cover a tomato plant twice! lol

Wow - Connie! You have so much color around you right now. Thanks so much for brightening my cold, icy day with your sunshine and blooms. Hope your neighbors don't mind you sharing there blooms! I love the orange, climbing vine. It is spectacular.

    Cheers,
    BD
