Beautiful shape and you can't go wrong with this bright yellow!

So love the orchid. I just bought one that is almost the same and was wondering if you have any suggestions for me as I am still pretty new at orchids.
I have a, Blc. Orange Treat R402 (Orange Nugget x Lc.Trick or Treat). and was wondering if it needs any special attention.
I assume water once a week. Also when the flowers have fallen off do I cut the spike? If so where?
Again sorry for the newbie questions, but what does the following stand for
1) Blc
2) I assume the (Orange Nugget x Lc.Trick or Treat) means it is a hybrid of the two flowers?
thanks and love the new flower
Steve
Ok so, you should water it only after it gets completely dry, at least that's what everyone keeps telling me
1) Brassolealiocattleya -means Brassavola x Cattleya x Laelia (as per our orchid
genus listing!) I have a couple Blc's
2) Yes the part in the parenthesis is the formula for the hybrid, those are the parent
plants

Thanks for the reply, i hope to build my collection once I am confident I won't kill them all...

You'll be surprized how fast you gain confidence...after a few tips & tricks, you'll find growing orchids aint so hard...geee...I hope I'm not overconfident? Orange is my favorite color.
It's all in the title. I love this orchid as the color is such a deep orange and the flowers have lasted me for ever.
But I have noticed that the leaves are turning a slight yellow! Any ideas?
I live in Los Angeles and keep it out side. I water about once a week, only when iti s dry. It is under a porch that is between a house and a garage so it gets plenty of light and fresh air.
I started to bring it in a night thinking that is was the weather. Any ideas?
