Another strange thing...I thought this was a late Summer/early Fall bloomer and the flowers just finished opening this morning. Some of the sepals look a bit dried out.
Anyone else had C. maxima bloom out of season?

it is a very nice maxima...
Well, In Peru it was blooming at the end of Oct but that is their spring. Mine blooms in the fall. There are times I have seen Southern Hemisphere species switch blooming seasons
Beautiful blooms and those are long lasting too.
So when's the last time it bloomed for you? Last Fall?
Those are lovely flowers!
I have a C. maxima that has two buds still swelling. I estimate another 2-3 weeks before they open.
guess it just wanted to give you an early display to show it's appreciation for all your tender care
it's a beauty and I want one even more now.
Forget the sepals, she's lovely, Clint! And if it's her first time, the sepals might straighten out next time round.
