Problem viewing pages #2

Hello, I have the very same issue that was described by Caitlin. Once I'm logged, only an empty page is displayed. If I look at source code, it seems fine.
I ma on a Mac too, and issue appears both with Safari and Firefox.
I have no problem as long as I don't log in.

Hi Damas,

I see you have completed the registration process. Welcome. Can you please check the settings for accepting cookies in your browser of choice. OrchidTalk must place a cookie in a temp file to keep you logged into the forum. If your security settings do not allow this, you will not be able to see the forum when 'logged-in.

Hi Dreamer, this is not a cookie issue, my settings are ok.
As soon as I am logged, only an empty green page (background) displays. I am a member of many boards, I only meet this issue here.
You can write to me using -----BLOCKED FOR SECURITY----- in case you need screenshots or more information.

I have sent an e-mail to the address you posted above (I can see it, though it is blocked to public and spiders). I will include part of that e-mail here in case someone else using firefox or safari with a mac has this issue.

Directions:
With Safari browser open:
1. Click on Edit at the top left of your screen
2. Select Preferences from the drop down list
3. In the pop-up there will be 8 tabs across the top (icons) Click on the one marked SECURITY
4. Put a check mark in each of the following boxes:

Fraudulent sites:
Enable plug-ins
Enable Java
Enable JavaScript
Block pop-up windows

5. In the Accept cookies area, select "Only from sites you navigate to"
6. In the Default database maximum size, select: 10MB
7. put a check mark in the "Ask before sending a non-secure form to a secure website"

Next step:

8. Select the APPEARANCE tab or Icon at the top
9. Here make sure you have a check mark in the Display images when the page opens.

Please restart your computer before attempting to access the webpage again.

And now for FireFox:
With Fire Fox Browser open:
1. click on TOOLS in the top left of your screen.
2. Select 'Options' from the drop down list
3. In the pop-up window there will be 7 tabs (icons) Click on the one marked CONTENT
4. Here, put check marks in all four boxes on the top of the screen. These are:
Block Pop-up windows.
Load images automatically
Enable JavaScript
Enable Java
5. Next, click on the PRIVACY tab.
6. Under the 'Cookies' section in the middle of the pop-up, Put a check mark in both boxes. They are:
Accept cookies from sites
Accept third-party cookies
7. Beside Keep until: I recommend selecting: "I close Firefox", but you can make your own choice here.
8. Under the Private Data section: I recommend putting a check box before "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox"
9. Click OK at the bottom of the pop-up. The window will close.

Please restart your computer before attempting to access the webpage again.

Hi BD, I'm the person from twitter having the login issues too. I'm only able to post booting Vista through Fusion.

I tried the steps you outlined, but it's still not working for me on either Safari or Firefox on my Mac

Please try updating your flash player plugin in addition to the above steps.

EDIT: I just saw your message about cookies on Twitter. I am looking into it right now. I will post again as soon as I can recreate the problem here. Thanks for your patience!!
