Hi BD, very nice variety of water iris. I've in my pond a yellow flowering water iris. The flowers appear from May until June. Unfortunately, they make a lot of seeds, so I can see in all corner of my garden a small seedlings, these I've to weed. Hard job.

I have never had that problem. I actually would like for this one to make seed and come up naturally. The one pictured here is growing in a pot. The plant gets a bit bigger each year, but has never left the pot. I think it would be cool to see a large area of these blooms.

    Thanks everyone for the comments.

    Cheers,
    BD

Bruce, you may want to try unpotting it. Break the rhizomes apart a bit and maybe find a bigger container to put them in so that they can spread out. I know you need containment so they don't get washed away, but again, you could cover or surround the container with rocks or something to keep it anchored.

I rekon you should get some calla lillies too-just for a one year show maybe? I got the dwarf 'Pecin' white one and it just sits happily in our pond with its little white flowers all summer =) More larger types are nice too

Your irises are beautiful. We have our native Bearded Iris up here in the low areas where the swamps. These are on the edges of the swamps.

Your right BD, blue is a wonderful color.
