A suggestion, Bruce? Perhaps either make or look for a pot that has the appearance of rock -- it might blend in better than the terra cotta.

Wow, the color is so powerful. I never would of thought of growing irises in my pond....hmmmmm
beautiful iris's stunning
Nice blue-it looks like a siberian , Louisiana or flag iris, I would suspect flagor louisiana, because the bulbs of the others would rot in the water. Good work!
BD those are Gorgeous with a capital "G"! I've been looking at art lately...looking for a few things for the new house, and there are several nice paintings and tapestries with your purple iris' on them. I can see why so many artists have made them their subject....how absolutely pretty they are, lucky you!
I'm starting some iris in my garden pond, nothing to match yours however.
Do you by chance know the species?
Rick
I will have to post pics next spring of all the iris I have around here. Those do look like siberian. Very pretty and if you can't find a pot that looks like a rock, find some cool stones to pile up around the pot to make it look more natural. My 2 cents.
