    Default New Silk Paintings

    Just a quick post to establish that I am still alive and thinking of Orchid Talk. Thought I would throw a few (truly awful photos) of some new paintings your way since I haven't done that in a long time. These are large, and bright by design, and they are much prettier in person because of the luminous silk they are painted on. I almost hesitate to present them here, because they are meant to evoke plants, not to be anatomically correct, and you know how orchidphiles are! Sigh--I have so much to still do to be ready for summer!

    Do you use resist (colored or clear?) and if so how do you apply it? Just nosy.

    Hi Cin! I use hot wax (applied with tjanding and brush) as a resist in combo with watercolor techniques making use of dye thickeners and other things.
