From what I hear, you need a terrarium to grow these as they need such high humidity. I hope someone on here will have one and can give the specifics on them. I know they grow in the swamps of Florida. There is a state park known for them, the name eludes me, but I'd guess that it's goin to be a fun one for you! Best of luck, I hope it'll bloom so we can see your pictures of it.

It is growing in Everglades and I only live about a hundred miles north so I am hoping she is going to like outside growing on high South Floridian humidity. I've been reading soooooooooooo much about it so I wanted one for some time, but was scared of killing it... We'll see.

I have one that I've kept alive and doing well for about a year and a half now--lots of new growth. Although, like yours it probably still has awhile to blooming size.

The key is to put it in a shady place with zero air movement and then keep it moist without rotting it. No small feat. Mine hangs under a shelf in the area just under my vandas. The shelf keeps it fully in the shade, and the vanda area works well I try really hard to keep it humid. I spray it with the hose on mist setting every day--very very light on the fertilizer. Hope that helps a little.

    Good luck!

I know someone who used a plastic gallon milk container, with a part of the side cut out. The mount hung in there, reservoir of water in bottom
