    hi forum,
just wanna share some moments of our latest trip around negros. we started in tacloban and travelled by bus and boat via cebu to dumaguete, sipalay, bacolod and back. this way we got to see the stunning beauty of negros with coasts and mountain ranges.
we had a great time visiting friends, finding places, local delicatessen, listen to different languages and collecting plants for myself, which hopefully thrive in my garden after this stressful journey for them.
for more info you can pm me.

hope you enjoy as much as i did,

to start of with my first nun orchid (correct?) i saw,
    2. a rock orchid ( local name), i let my girlfriend pose next to it to show that size, and 1 leave was as heavy as 1 vanda,
    3. our friend showed us a japanese museum on the way up to the mountains, a secret tip and absolutely fantastic!

    10. on the way down we got invited from locals to fresh buko (young coconut), and wow was that good! then i explored their garden and saw this amazing bloom maybe 1.5 metres above the ground, the plant itself should be in the banana family according to the leaves and size (up to 4 meters)
    11. our next target sipalay, sugar beach, where nature is pretty much untouched, my girl didnt wanna leave this beach...
    12. my favourite shot of local kids

Fantastic! Thanks for taking us on this tour! Now I'm even more excited about my trip at the end of the year.

Loads of wonderful orchids by the looks of it... the last spathoglottis has wonderful colours!

As for Post 2 Pic 2, the strange 'tree' is an Amorphophallus. It is one of the most amazing plants with flowers that smell really, really bad!

Ron, you could never bore us with your travels. I suspect that most of us would never get to see these places (and orchids) without you sharing your adventures with us, and I for one thank you!!
