Default Can Can Dancer Bearded Iris

My unknown iris in the backyard finally bloomed. It's a Can Can Dancer and I'm pretty thrilled with it. It could also be a Megabucks or a Strange Brew I suppose, but it looks more like Can Can Dancer to me.

It's very very pretty! I beg mine to bloom every year. I never realized they were difficult to grow. Up north back in Michigan they grow like weeds! Sigh...

What is the secret with irises? They like to be in wetter areas right?

    Thanks everyone!

    Cjcorner, maybe it's the climate?

walingwaling, kind of does look like one. Maybe that's why I love iris?

Becky, location, location, location. The Can Can Dancer and my Before The Storm took years to bloom probably because of the shade. Here in Utah they love the sun and being watered on a regular basis, but never wet. Of course, some varieties are easier than others, apparently Can Can Dancers are pretty well known for taking a couple years to bloom. I take care of my aunt's (which is where I pilfered my Before the Storm) and hers will even bloom twice some years, and they are not bred for that to my knowledge.
