    Question

Well... tried to remove moss whole evening piece by piece. Tried real hard but damaged tramendouce amount of good roots anyway (are they going to rot now?)... That's how plant looks now. Can't imagine how could it fit in old tiny pot. Some moss is still there though. Is it okay to leave it? If I still better remove it all (can't see how) - how exactly to dry it off and don't kill the roots - outside, in shade, inside? Explain a little more detailed, please.
Now another question (actually two) - what should I do with two old bulbs - cut off ore leave it there?
And if plant all roots leveled - plant won't "stay strait", it will "lean forward" - is this right thing to do ore how to plant it right? When I bought it - it was staying strait.
    I greatly appreciate any help.

It is fine like it is. Leave the old p-bulbs as they give nourishment to the plant. When you repot, put the new growth toward the center of the pot.

    Cheers,

As for ID, as BD said, post a pic of the flowers if you can - those two are quite easily distinguished. Though based solely on the shape of the pseudobulbs, I would guess Sharry Baby. My Colmonara pseudobulbs are rounder than my oncidiums.

But the flower would be definitive.

HI sorry just spotted this post, I had to be rather ruthless with mine to get rid of all the moss and still a little bit remained, so far the plant is doing just fine I used long tweezer to get it out and let the plant dry but it looks like you did just find, I just bought a colmanara Massai Red on saturday and the bulbs are a lot rounder and bigger than your so I would guess it is a sharry baby but I do not have one to compare it to the blooms would tell people what it is, I am a beginner and not totally sure of the ID but I am sure with flower pics the good people here will be able to tell you. Also did it have a scent? that would also help with the identification.

Thanks for reply! This orchid has no flowers - when it will bloom (if it ever will ) I'll have to post the picture.
Plant is still not repoted - I didn't get an unswer to one questin: should I lean the plant to make all bulbs level to the ground (youngest ones are upper), or just pot it straight as it was before and let younger bulbs hang in air?
    Thanks to everyone!!

When I re-pot an oncidium, I usually plant the older bulbs a little lower so that the newer growth is in the bark, not above it. This does mean that the older bulbs are partly covered by bark, but so far they have not given me any problems.
