Oksana, Right now the plant is living off the energy it gets from the leaves. I have found they make new roots more quickly if the plant is secure, does not move in the pot or container it is in. Rooting hormone won't harm your orchid at this point in it's growth. Plant it in the medium that YOU like best, the 'chid will grow roots adapted to that media.

I'm too new to orchids to be able to judge on mediums, therefore I'll do whatever experienced ones would recommend for now. Medium I have seems to be coarse bark with some charcoal and perlite in it - is this okay ore need something finer?
And another question: what size of pot to use if there is no roots, just a stump (thanks to dummie me) but leaves spread about a foot?

Small pot, 2 maybe 3 inches. This bark mix sounds okay. After you have it secured into a very small pot, you can set that into a larger pot to help keep the orchid from tipping over in his little pot.

I agree rooting hormone sounds like a great idea! It won't hurt just make sure to follow the directions well and don't forget to shake off any excess hormone since it could possibly rot it if there's too much. Glad you're here!

I already potted them into 3-4 inch little plastic pots with especial bark medium mix for Phals, used hormone. They are sitting there pretty tight. so I didn't put any stiks there to secure - doesn't seem would do any difference. Now new questions:
    1. I have some shade on south side of the house - under the porch roof, and north side of the house - shade whole day along. Where would you recommend me to place them?
    2. How to water them - hormone will get washed away?
    3. Should I fertilaze them ore better just leave them alone?
Thank you all so much for help! If my poor rootless phals will survive - it will be a miracle to me...

    1. Shade on the north side of the house is where mine live all summer.
    2. to water, set the small pot into a larger pan of water and let soak 10 or 15 minutes so the bark can absorb plenty of water. Go a week to 10 days between these waterings, checking the pot for moisture about half way down into the bark before you water again. Rain may take care of the watering for you.
    3. Wait until your new roots are a good inch or tow long before you bigin using very weak fertilizer on them.

Thank you, Cindi. I'' put them on the north side right now.
Watering still confuses me: hormone will get washed away the very first time I water, right?
Bruce have recommended to someone here to keep phal with unsufficient roots out of medium, on air and just sprincle every day. My phals have NO roots at all but a big stumps - 1,5-2 inch long (I didn't cut it off - should I?)/ What if stumps will start rotting? I won't see it then...
    I probably worry too much...
It is so good to find this site and all of you, wonderful people, here! Everything happens for a reason...
    Good day to everybody!

    Red face WEB and SCALES!

Well, people... today I found another problem on a new phal (which pictire I put on page 2 here - I bought pretty good looking plant on sale at the nursery). Actually 2 problems:
    1) Scales. I removed them by hand. Also saw a little bit of a web under bottom leaf. Only insecticide I have is Fungicide 3. Should I spray with it?
    2) On the picture you could see 5 new good and green aerial roots. Today I found them all being damaged - all tips of the roots are bitten off 2-3 mm. I guess - bugs. I left the plant outside. Can these roots still grow ore grow point is not there any more (as on all regular plants)?

Any opinions on this are greately appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I think the secret here is to examine your plants closely before buying. Always look for the strength of the mother plant and don't worry about the flowers. They will always come on a HEALTHY plant. Good luck...less is more I think.
