Mounted orchids suggestions

I am running out of space... You all know how that is... LOL So I was thinking of mounting some plants, but it seems so hard to decide which orchids will be happy to be mounted.

What do you grow mounted and which ones do you think will be happy to grow mounted?

Any suggestions are welcome!

The smaller the plant the easier to mount it....IMHO. I like to put den. keikei's on sticks as they take to them really fast.

Encyclia's and Dendrobiums come to mind.

I have a couple of Little Stars mounted and a few dendrobiums too. They tend to need more water than potted orchids.

Are you sure?!?! My list is getting bigger and bigger... It will take me forever to do it. That is why I asked what others are growing mounted and I was thinking to go from there... I mounted today Max tenufolia and Miltassia Charles M Fitch 'Izumi'. Good think is I have alot of babies and they don't take too much space yet, but....... they will once they grow up...

ok, lets see, almost all my dendro's are mounted, so are catt's, phal's and especially oncidium's, but remember i have tropical climate.
i have only a few pots, among em is max., pretty much the opposite. lol
i would say, just mount a few, also different species, than you would see in a few months how it goes, especially the watering and misting can be much more time consuming.

I picked max because I have one in a pot, and I read they like to be mounted, so the second one went on a piece of wood. Don't ask about the Miltassia- I was just looking at bunch of bare root orchids and this one was the winner (of another piece of wood). Also have two L. pacavia and was thinking of mounting one of them... Do you see now why I need help choosing?!- because I am picking only the once I have two of! LOL
BTW no big difference with the climat- I am in South Florida.

So, theoretically speaking, almost everything can be mounted. It is the water requirement that varies much.

Remember, in the jungle some tree branches can hold organic matter comparable to what is a pot. Also, a lot of moss holds moisture in their root system.

On the other hand, some species plants like some vandas can thrive bareroot. Even Aerides. These are true air plants, lol...
