Wow! 45 is too cold in my book. If it were me I would wait till you don't dip into the 40's. Vandas especially sulk if the get cold. Mine are outside now but we are in the 60's at night. Just my humble opinion.

Do you think it is ok to let everyone loose outside now? Our lows have been hovering around 50-55 with the occasional dip to 48 or so. I grow a broad range of species and hybrids including vandas, phals, paphs, catts, lycaste, oncids, brassia, etc...
I know a very successful grower who also grows a mix of genera and lets his GH get to 45 all winter long.
I'm so anxious to let them outside to play.

Hi! I think you should keep the *kids* inside for a little while longer. Usually you do not want your plants to go below 55. We keep our heat set to come on at 59-60 degrees. Good growing!
