Default Identification- Name on Tag ?

    Hi-

New to the site, I'm currently cataloging my 14 or so orchids and have hit a wall with one of my plants... unfortunately, it is not currently in bloom. The name on the tag is "Epi. rioclaranse (pink lip)' -or something like that!- and is not showing up on any lists I can find. That it is an Epidendrum should be the easy part... (but it is it an Epidendrum???). That the author wrote the third letter so it could also be a "d" doesn't help, either. Regardless- the only thing I can find is Epidendrum radicans- the leaves and stems of which look nothing like my plant.... (pics of plant and name tag attached).

And so, my questions are.... anyone recognize this name? Or am I stuck with no name/species until it flowers? (and then perhaps after that, even!)

    thanks in advance,

I would suspect it is a hybrid rather than a species. It is possible the name is misspelled or was never registered.

I agree with Susan. It is probably going to be a hybrid. After it blooms for you, someone may recognize it. The plant looks healthy, so maybe you will see blooms this season.

    Cheers,

There is a hybrid called Epidendrum Rioclarense which is a primary cross between E cordigera and E. randii.

When searching, and because taxonomists have played around with all the names, you may want to search under Encyclia Rioclarense.

    Default thank you!

    bench72 & everyone that offered/attempted assistance-

thank you! accepting that it may be Encyclia Rioclarense will work just fine for now... the leaves are identical, the root/bulb formation and character also looks identical... won't know for sure until it blooms, but I'm fortunate with climate (hawaii- don't hate) and have a pretty decent green thumb (have managed to get moon flower to bloom here)- so I should be posting pics soon...

thanks again and really appreciate everyone's help,

ps: my apologies if my language isn't spot on- am just starting to become more official and educated wrt my orchids...
