Thanks Kitty and Jaydee, this actually is a very old thread, the one I started when I joined OT in 2009 (gosh it feels just like last like last year !) You can see the latest updates here

Amey, You have got to be OCD
Lovely, Amey, just LOVELY! It must be paradise to walk around inside...Betty
I wish you and your mother could send me a little in a box. I need some of the OCD for organization I have it for hoarding just lacking in the other.
I am in the process of building a rooftop greenhouse. Is it possible to see your greenhouse? I live near Mhatre bridge.
Interesting that you have not used shade nets.

Pune India
Rajeev I am currently not in India but in Germany. What kind of information would you like to have? And I have shadenets installed, they are white or black in color just not the green ones.
Amey,
What level of shading have you used for the orchids?
Do you use any climatic controls?
What about ventilation?
Do you use normal water from tap or processed?
Regards
I use a 90% shade net since the terrace gets unobstructed sunlight. No climatic controls, but it has misting system which is operated in the summer to keep the relative humidity high. For ventilation I have two industrial fans, that along with the misting system keeps the temperature a bit cooler but not significantly. I use normal Pune tap water, I had it tested once, it is really soft with very low total dissolved solids (TDS) 65 ppm and an ideal pH of 7.
