My Sobralia Mirabilis 'Pinkie' finally bloomed and there are 2 more on the way. I read that the blooms only last a day. I hope not. It stands about 2 feet

Vey beautiful, the plant also looks very healthy and thriving congrats !! Also this post comes on a very precise time. I just got a Sobralia rosea. I have heard that plants get to gigantic proportions. Jeff please share your cultural conditions and the SECRETS to bloom this beauty hehe.
Love these! Very nice, healthy plant too, Jeff! Good growing!
Cheers,
BD
What a huge bloom! And so pink...it'd be a shame for it not to last at least a week.
there are so few Sobralia hybrids...Many Sobralia are too large for most growers I suspect that and the short blooming time for the flower contributes. most are sequential so you should see a few flowers from the same spike
I hear that some get as tall at 40ft. I'm hoping mine stays arount 2 to 4 feet tall. Here's my secret. I water with 20 20 20 on Saturday and plain water on Wednesday for 3 weeks then I water with plain water on Saturday trying to wash any salt that may have deposit. I take it outside during the day making sure its not in direct sun and I bring it in at night. Day time temp has been around 90 degrees and inside my home its 78 degrees. I hope that helps
