Default new orchids 7th august 09 (vanilla etc)

I recieved an order yesterday morning that I only placed the day before and was pleasantly surprised when these arrived, the 3 small ones were a package of 3 intermediate plants so I didnt know what I was getting the vanilla and miltonia I ordered specifically. the vanilla has variagated leaves which I didnt expect and my husband and I have fallen for it already, as we both have with the miltonia. the den. oligophyllum has a bud on it and the other two look healthy and happy.

Thanks Bruce and Margo, I am still stunned at the size of the Miltonia LOL Its in isolation at the moment as the others are but I can still see it and enjoy the blooms it is lightly scented of roses, I meant to check it this morning when I got up to see if the scent was stronger as I couldnt detect it last night. We are concerned about the size the vanilla can grow to but we will work something out, and are looking into if you can prune it to keep it at a manageable size, we knew it grew big but Anne did some looking yesterday and found it can grow to 100ft which might be a little issue with not having a greenhouse for it to live in LOL

    Hey Carrie,

You can totally prune the vanilla. The pieces you cut off can be rooted easily for trade too.

    Cheers,
    BD

Thank you Amey I love it also.
