Tree Fern Pots

Has anyone ever used these? I'm considering given them a shot. Seems to me that that would be the prefect mix of potting/mounting.

I use a tree fern "totem" for a plant that likes to climb and that needs to dry very quickly.
I think tree fern is good for fine rooted orchid, it is very airy, resists to decay and barely retains any moisture.

They are fine because it is like you said they are a mount as well as a pot, but you can only use them once but they do look good till the plant overruns the pot then you have to break it up.

Thanks for asking this question - your question has answered mine. I have never used them before but have recently been giving some thought to the idea. I also like the way they look.

Once consideration with tree fern products is that the supply has been dwindling due to habitat loss and excessive harvesting in the past. Certain countries where these ferns grow have since instituted conservation measures to try and regain a sustainable supply.

But in the mean time, you might have to contend with high prices and limited supply.
