    Default droopy petals

    hi
    im a new orchid grower and i have got a phal orchid it has been blooming for just over a month now its roots are plump and green but the petals have started drooping is that because it has finished its blooming time or have i done somthing wrong i water her every 4/5 days if it is the end of the blooming time do i have to cut the blooms off ?

    Hi Kirsty, just wanted to say hi and welcome to Orchidtalk.

    if you have a Phalaenopsis orchid, you may want to check if the media ('soil') in the pot is not too wet.. sometimes the aerial roots, ie the ones you see outside of the pot still looks nice and plump, but inside the pot could be a different matter.

    was it purchased in bloom or did it start blooming after you received it? 4-5 weeks is a short time for a Phal bloom if it has truely only been in bloom for a month
