Repotting first Dend. Are roots healthy?

I'm repotting my first Dendrobium and I'm concerned about the roots. When I bought it a month ago it was potted in sphag. I've been letting it dry almost completely between waterings.

A week ago I noticed the lower leaves had started getting soft and were wrinkling lengthwise. Today the top leaves are doing the same. I assume this indicates it isn't getting water. I hope root rot is not the cause.

I'm having trouble determining which roots are healthy. Only the roots closest to the base of the canes feel firm. The others are soft when I squeeze them.

Would you please tell me whether the roots look healthy, and tell me how to decide what roots to remove? Thanks! Dana

Looks good. I would put it in Hydrogen Peroxide for about 10min. and then pot in bark mix. I see new roots starting so you have nothing to worry about!

everything looks normal to me, the plant needed the energy for the spike, just cut the spike when she is done blooming.
