I bought this mini phal two weeks ago.
Three days ago I noticed this brown stain on the leaf.
I Put fungicide, but not improved, it seems to increase. And it's increasing quickly.
It came potted in sfagno and stem of plant was immersed in it. I took a little to expose this part of the plant and ventilate.
What can this be? Any help will be welcome
was it in the sun at all?
Rosalia simply cut of the damaged part and then seal the good tissue with a DRY fungicide etc. You can cut the damaged part, dabb it with cotton dipped in peroxide and then apply cinnamon or any powder fungicide. You do not want to wet the leaf until it has healed. Water just helps to spread the fungus or bacteria. Tell us how the surgery goes.
No andrew, it was not in the sun at all.
I'll do that Amey and than I 'll update informations, ok. thank you guys.
Hope it turns out well.
Cheers,
BD
I cut the leaf and made as Amey advice me.
after a month the stain was big again and the orchid died quickly.
i think it was bacterial. the smelling was not good
It was my first lost.
Thanks for the help. Just updating. No other plants had any problem.
Rosalia:
I agree with Amey. When I do this type of "surgery" however, I seal the cut with sulphur.
Make sure your "scalpel" is sharp so trauma to the leaf is minimized.
Good luck.

Rosalia, I think it is bacterial rot especially with the bad smell. We used to treat it with physan when it was available here but unfortunately physan seems to have disappeared from Malaysia.
