my summer was crazy and without my added care my mounts only got watered 1x per week..there were 6 weeks that I did not find time. I started removing the dead today
Phal stuartiana
Bulbo subumbellatum
Stellis hirtella
Angraecum florulentum
Aerangis clavigera
Phal pulchra...basket is empty...don't know what happened to plant and medium???
Sadly, the list will be longer.
I lost Dendrobium crepidiferum and a virused Catt. This year was fairly lucky for me.
I threw out a young laelia tenebrosa that was the source of a small mealybugs infestation.
I have a phal tetraspis with one root that seems desperate to cross over but I am not giving up
(I don't even like this plant but it became a matter of principle )
Lucky so far, only death this summer was a Milt. Maui Sunset that was overwatered by my dog sitter while I was on vacation.
Early this year I disposed of a mini-Catt clone that looked like probable virus. Fortunately it wasn't in direct contact with other plants. It wasn't showing a lot of symptoms, just wasn't growing and blooming like usual the previous year with a few spots that looked like sunburn. When it did bloom the flower had a bunch of color breaks, so away it went . I thought it was strange, because I had the plant for a number of years and have always been careful about not spreading disease. Then I read it is possible for plants to have latent infections that don't show any signs for years and then something (stress) triggers an active infection.

Yeah, now you owe me a basket.
wow ron, how could you?.... lol
i had a mule eared oncidium, which took me months to get closer to id it, and the beast just gave up on me after i scratched off some scales from it, should have left it on!!!
