Talking Phragmipedium Barbara LeAnn- tiny slipper orchid in bloom

The pink phrag is blooming for us now. I love the way this guy grows all over the place. Most of the phragmipedium orchids we grow just grow up and large. Not this one. She grows out and long. Her blooms pop up about a foot or sometime further away from her pot on the orchid bench. The bloom itself is tiny. I would guess it is about an inch from tip to tip. I love the pouch with all the stripes. This orchid seems to love our growing conditions and produces new growths and blooms each year. If you don't have one and love phrags, then add this one to your wish list.

Love the pink. I don't have any Phrag, would like to try this one. Is it "easy" to grow in hot and humid place?

I live in Arkansas and it is HOT and HUMID here most of the time. I find it easy to grow. Just be sure to keep it watered.

I should try one, especially my husband is tired photographing the same orchids (They are not same, just most of them are hybrid catts, he can't tell the difference unless I hold blooms together). LOL.

You should get one. They are fun. If you have enough light to grow cattleyas, you can grow this phrag. easy. Good luck!
