Very nice substance. I'm skeptical as to the likelihood of it being a species -- most likely a hybrid.

I bought this orchid here in Thailand in Feb. when it was flowering. It has just bloomed again and is striking in it's coloration (seems the red was hand painted !). Unfortunately the seller did not know this species. The flower is about 2.5 inches in diameter and it is waxy/shiny. Please, can anyone identify it ? Thanks, Michael

Yes, I also suspect that. It resembles a "Baby Cattleya". Thanks for your reply! Was peanut a pet snake?
Michael this hybrid has definitely Netrasiri starbright lineage.
Thanks for the tip!
I really cant help with the ID but I think it is stunning, I love the multi coloured ones ( splash petals?) thanks for sharing it with us
I think Amey's on the right track.. you might also want to check Netrasiri Doll.
