    Default Paph Miracle 'Victory' AM/RHS

The cross was registered at St Albans, UK , in 1935. This clone received an RHS Award of Merit in 1948. The RHS painting shows a flower very similar to this , but perhaps with slightly drooping petals, maybe the flower was going over a bit by the time the artist got around to it.
This is an excellent example of my favourite kind of Maudiae cross ; nice foliage too.

I rather think my piece came from a certain nursery not far from Antwerp , should any of our European friends want one, although it can only be reproduced by divisions, so supply is never going to be easy - reflected in the price.
    Enjoy - I am .

It is a shame that so little of this type of breeding is seen, compared to the parent types. The results can obviously be quite spectacular. Easy to grow I presume.

I'll just go back to drooling now...

When you see a named/awarded clone of a paph, remember that it started off as just one plant. They don't meristem, so increase is solely by division. If dealers can sell them, there must be a few divisions on the bench to be worth putting in the catalogue - even for a small nursery ( and of course the big firms don't list these at all for this reason). And this plant has been around almost as long as I have..... put all that together , and no, it can't be a difficult grower , else it would have gone long since .
    Logical ?
