Well I couldn't wait for these spikes to get bigger to post pictures...So Im posting pics. now for my 100th Post here at Orchid Talk. YIPPY
This is an Oncidium that was labeled as a Dancing Lady hybrid with no other id. All the other specimens looked like Onc. cebolleta except this one. So idk...
But I loved the flowers and its been a year or more since I got it. Now its starting to peak its lil spikes out. Out of two plants(specimen A & B) that I split. One is visible, 4 others I can feel and see a bump under the leaf...cant wait
Specimen A

One of my oncids is growing a spike and one other looks like it may be sending a couple out soon. You and I will be on spike watch together! Can't wait to see your pictures!
Well, Andrew, I've been growing orchids for more than 40 years and every time I see a new spike, a new sheath, the excitement is always the same. That's the fascination of growing orchids. You never get bored. My Coelogyne verrucosa has a 4" spike now and the buds are showing, and the Paph stoneii is showing a hint of a sheath.I have seen the verrucosa many times and is the excitement any less? An emphatic NO. The stoneii is a bit more special as I acquired it only last month. It's like sitting outside the delivery room waiting for your first born!
Great post for you 100th! Congrats on the spikes, Andrew!
Cheers,
BD
