With a total of four new referrals to his credit, our winner for December's membership contest has shone through!
I also wanted to thank our other referrers: Orchid Fan, with two referrals; and Heather, Brutal_Dreamer, and Sue, each with one referral. You all did a great job for this month, and I wanted you to know that I sincerely appreciate your efforts. Please continue to spread the word!
For all of you new members, the contest is open to everyone who is active on OrchidTalk, so let's continue to build our great community: get out there and tell everyone about us!
For the month of January and onward, the rules have been changed slightly to make the contest a little more difficult. Many of you new members have already posted, and for next time, that will also be one of the qualifications for the referral to count... Click HERE to see the updated Announcement.
I want to wish everyone the best of luck for January's contest!
And now, without further ado...

I've passed along a few of my non-orchid houseplants today to others in the building to enjoy, so there's room for another of RVO's 'orchid magazine coverplants'...
[the dancing smily has way too much rhythm to be me, so I'll just grin]
Nice job, Pete! Be sure to post pictures of the new arrival!
LOL - I understand the "making room" process! I looked at my pointsettias all December, wondering how long they'd live this year (last year they just wouldn't die!)
I finally came up with a great plan. I gave some away to friends and neighbors on Christmas Eve. And the remainder got the same treatment on Christmas Day. They were pretty for me all month, I got a few gifts out of them, and the vacuum created by their absence was immediately filled with...more orchids!
(The hibiscus better watch its step...)

Congratulations, PeteMc! Thanks for the referrals!
Cheers!

Julie: I heard that hibiscus makes good tea.
The plant arrived just a few minutes ago, in bloom! Bardendrum Namboh Pixie 'Volcano Queen'. It fits beautifully in my growing case, hopefully it will inspire the others...
Wish I had a digital camera
As soon as I can get ahold of one, I'll post pics...
