Found in the Philippines and Borneo at elevations of 100 to 300 meters as a medium to large sized, hot growing epiphyte occuring in lowlands and has elongated, erect, branched, leafy stems carrying oblong to oblong-ovate, leaves and blooms on a short single flowered, axillary inflorescence with fragrant flowers held close to the stem occuring in the spring and summer.(From IOSPE).
The plant is found in most major islands of the Philippines and even up to Tawitawi, which is near Borneo. The shading and coloring is very variable, from yellowish-brown to dark red. Some lumpers consider T. brachiata and T. philippinensis to be varieties. This is a particularly dark red clone, almost like a T. brachiata, but with yellow edging.
Very nice, it has wonderful coloring. I especially like the cream yellow rim.
Really beautiful, Nelson. I like the edging!
