    Default my lionfish

hey guys. i'd like you to meet woody, he was my lionfish. he died 4 years ago, we were together for almost 4 years through my college years... i kept him in a 35gal fish only tank with a couple of butterflies but he outlived all of them.

sorry for the crappy photos, this was taken by a phonecamera.

    thanks guys

actually they are very easy to care. in fact hardier than most marine species. they are not really sensitive to water quality fluctuations.

He is a beauty, Here you have to be registered with the local hospital for having one so they can have the anti venom in, I did a degree in Marine Biology and Coastal Conservation and we had one of these in the greenhouse/lab. they are amazingly beautiful creatures.

i never registered at the local hospital or im not sure if they even register here.

i never got stung, but i kept in mind that if i ever do, immerse stung part in really hot water. and as far as the internet searching goes, i never read anything about dieing from a lionfish sting...

No I dont think you can die from a Lion Fish Sting the Scorpion Fish is more dangerous, but they recommend here that the hospitals are made aware you keep Lion fish and if stung as you say Immerse your hand in as hot water as you can possibly stand then call an ambulance to take you to the hospital
