I nerded out last night watching "The Botany of Desire," a fascinating discussion of how plants use us, and then Nova, which featured science's search for the earliest flowering plants. I've always been mystified by the plant kingdom's evolutionary leap from asexual to sexual reproduction. Thankfully, that leap produced flowers, without which my life would be much less colorful and fragrant! The Nova episode also showed glimpses of rare orchids in China.
