Default Vanda in Vase in Bloom: Princess Mikasa

    Okay,

This Ascocenda has been growing in this vase for a little over a year now and I've gotten good results from this cultural method. Especially nice if you do not enjoy watering your indoor vandas every day!

How often do you water it and for how long? No fungus? Thought roots needed air movement...

I water it every third day in summer and every sixth day in Winter. It is grown inside in a Northwest windowsill supplemented with flor. lights. The roots dry out too quickly in the house so the vase provides a "mini-terrarium" to keep the roots much more humid than the surrounding atmosphere. No fungus at all. (I also feed it every couple of weeks with fert. at half strength)

That's a pretty neat idea, the plant sure seems to like it. I love the color of the blossoms.

Stunning! That is a great solution... almost makes me brave enough to try one. Now, if I could only find the space!
