    Samamtha, please remove alll the sphag from the roots and cut away any dead or damaged roots using a sterile blade. Repot in orchid bark in a clay pot with holes. Good luck

    thanks so much for all your help! your speedy advice may have saved my orchid! the repot went well, I will try to upload a picture when I get a chance!
