@boyong: check out the root system of your dendrobium plant, does it have new roots emerging or none at all? are there healthy roots or brown/black shriveled roots? if the latter is observed then your orchid needs to be rescued by repotting and hopefully send out new roots. just don't water for a week and observe.water when vigorous roots appear.

i have a den mingles sapphire and when i first got it it was just a pathetic little thing barely a nub and it started to grow very fast and when it started to get its second shoot it bloomed beautiful blue flowers so it can bloom very small but it was under very warm t5s at the time, just thought id mention that..so it is possible to get blooms at a very early stage, at least for this one..

It looks like a soft cane dendrobium. The bark you have it in looks like ordinary garden variety bark.
Two points
1.0 Try buying some coarse bark specially prepared for Cattleyas and Phalis. Must fertilise often during growing.

2.0 Soft cane dendrobiums usually come fron South east Asia. Monsoon country. As you hav ealready been advised they do need plenty of light and warmth but can withstand cooler weather. I have mine hanging under a tree where they get plenty of kight and we have temps down as low as 5 centigrade. Under the tree they never get frost. Becuase of their origin they need lots of water when growing but need a dry period before flowering.

I let mine ( Dendrobium Nobile) grow on to quite a large plant before cutting it up into 8 still large plants. THe last flowering before dividing it it produced 100 flowers of the one pot.
