    So we haven't ahd one of these for awhile...

    here's a chance to have a bit of fun trying to work out what this one is... ask questions so we can get to it's name.

    hmmm? I like the coloring on the pouch and can see it is a multi-floral paph. hmmm?

    Hi Roy, yes, u r on the right track... it is indeed a Primary Hybrid.. and yes two species from the Brachypetalum group and the other from the Cochlopetalum group.

    so just to clarify, a primary hybrid is where two species is used to make a hybrid.

    Ron, good guess but alas, it is named after someone else

    So, Bruce, yes, it is a multi-floral, from the cochlo influence... the other bud is plumping up so it would be interesting to see if it opens up with two flowers at the same time.

    OK, concolor has to be one parent I think, that means the other parent would be either P. victoria-mariae or Paphiopedilum kalinae ( victoria-regina v. kalinae ) ie chamberlainianum.
    I say concolor because the flower shape is distinct to concolor as bellatulum, godefroyae & niveum give very different petals visible in most/all progeny, plus color softening.
