Question Dark Green Leaves on my Phalaenopsis Orchid

    Hi, Everyone,

I read all the recommendations in this thread. And I'd like to ask you a problem of my own.

I have a small Phalaenopsis with leaves that are a dark green. The lower, older leaves appear to be very soft-- almost leathery.

I keep this plant near an east facing window. I never allow direct sunlight, but do open the blinds after mid-morning.

    Here's what it looks like.

    I'd appreciate your advice.

    Thank you.

i would consider that smaller phal to be short of water. That medium looks bone dry. Phals don't like to dry out completely.

Yes, water looks due... make sure it drains well and be a bit more generous in your watering in the future. You should see results in 5 days!

I agree. You rarely see orchids that are underwatered, but I think you've got a couple there. Soak them thoroughly once a week. The leathery leaves may not get much better, but the new growth should be fine.
