There are some famous of Papilionanthe species, like teres, hookeriana or the national plant of Singapore, Miss Joaquim. This one is quite seldom. This plant come from South-India (Kerela) and calls Papahilionanthe cylindrica.

Ron, yes this Papilionanthe looks like e.g. arching Luisia or Cleisostoma and need a lot of sunshine. Unfortunately this winter in Germany is very cloudy and due the lack of sun, I waited since September for the flower. But now I'm lucky.

The lip is very nice! There are so many interesting orchids out there that we don't see often in North America
