My Cym Golden Elf is blooming with two spikes - star-shaped,clear light lemon-yellow coloured flowers measuring 2.5in across and 3in hugh. Last year at about the same time it had 5 spikes but I couldn't photograph it as I was away on holidays in Hong Kong then.
I wish there were more warm tolerant cymbidiums that I could grow. By the way this is a Cym ensifolium cross.
Beautiful! Definately must get this one!
I love cymbidium, most of the beautiful one are cold grower, great to have this plant in your collection. Like golden color blooms.
I love this cymbidium. Ours fills the greenhouse with such a great fragrance when it blooms. And the bright, sunshinny color is outstanding.
Cheers,
BD
wow, yours has nice clear colour and shape.
I agree, this is a warm tolerance one, as well as being smaller than standard cymbidiums.
I also recommend crosses with Cym. sinense too (or just growing the species)
I have a Maureen Carter and a collection of ensifolium
wow... thats beautiful... thanks for sharing.
hi yew,
lovely plant and pix!
i have this one too, but struggle with the right care.

thanks!
Thanks everyone for looking in.
Ron, no special treatment for this cym. I grow it on the same bench as my semi-terete vandas - just plenty of water and sun.
