Default How to identify the dormant eye on an orchid?

Quick one. How do you identify if you have a dormant eye on a back bulb?

You have to look close, I can't get a clear shot of one with my camera. the only one I can show you is in active growth atm, so I don't know how much help that would be, as they look different when they are dormant..

On cattleyas, beneath the dried sheaths, if you peal them off, then just above the roots you can sometimes see a small scale, like a plump inverted V.

Thank you. I scored a Cat rescue for $7.00 R50.00 which has 3 back bulbs and 10 active p-bulbs, of which 9 are totally out of the pot, but with good active roots. Now i only have to decide to repot now or not?

BTW. Thank you for your help
