You have to look close, I can't get a clear shot of one with my camera. the only one I can show you is in active growth atm, so I don't know how much help that would be, as they look different when they are dormant..

Quick one. How do you identify if you have a dormant eye on a back bulb?

On cattleyas, beneath the dried sheaths, if you peal them off, then just above the roots you can sometimes see a small scale, like a plump inverted V.
Thank you. I scored a Cat rescue for $7.00 R50.00 which has 3 back bulbs and 10 active p-bulbs, of which 9 are totally out of the pot, but with good active roots. Now i only have to decide to repot now or not?
BTW. Thank you for your help
Here are pics of the dormant eye. I used one of my huge Catts so it was visible as possible. Hope these help.
Thank you. Great piece of photography. I know what to ook for now. I will have a go. I think i will repot over theweekend. Thanks for your advise.
