Cool to repot or not repot this orchid

    Hi
I have to thank you for the excellent advice I have gotten in the past. Now I have another problem.
I changed the the potting soil in my orchid that is not in bloom to a good bark. However, now the one that is blooming is looking sick. The leaves are droopy and developing a yellow cast. Should I go ahead and re-pot it now or wait until it is done flowering?

If it's not doing well my advice is cut off the bloom and repot to try and save the plant. Trying to maintain the flower just zaps more strength from the plant.

I agree with Jeff. Rather lose the flowers now and save the plant, that way you can enjoy it for years to come, instead of admiring the current flowers while the plant dies.

Be sure to trim that spike back and give the plant time to heal and grow.

    Cheers,

thanks, I did trim back the spike, but not real short. Then I moved the plants outside to a sheltered spot. Maybe I am rushing it.
